  • February Incidents

    02/09/2018 - "B" Shift was dispatched around 1500 hours to the 7400 block of Imperial Drive for a possible garage fire. Initial Alarm Assignment Included Chief 1, BC 3, Engine 22, Rescue 31 and 41, and Inspector 1 along with auto aid from Plymouth Chief 1 and Ladder 21. North Ambulance and a supervisor responded to the scene. Enroute, a column of smoke was noted and BC 3 requested an "All Call" for Brooklyn Park.

    BC 3 along with both Rescues arrived to find a fully involved garage fire with 2 cars on fire spreading to adjacent structures. One victim was removed from the residence upon arrival and transported with non life threatening injuries. Engine 22 tagged a hydrant while Rescue 31 stretched a blitz to the garage to knock the bulk of the fire down while Engine 22 crew conducted exposure extinguishment/protection. Rescue 41 conducted a primary search of the structure. BC 3 requested a second alarm which brought in Brooklyn Center Chief 2 and Engine 5, Coon Rapids Engine 3, West Metro Tower 1, and Fridley Engine 5 to stand by at Station 2. The fire was mainly contained to the garage with damage to the siding of the adjacent structures and some minor extension into the attic of one of the homes. Two patients were transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Crews cleared around 1700 hours.

    02/12/2018 - "A" Shift was dispatched around 2130 hours on a second alarm working apartment fire on the 5500 block of Zealand in New Hope. BC 1, Engine 22, and Rescue 31 responded to the scene. Crews assisted with various tasks and were clered around 2230 hours.

    02/16/2018- "C" Shift was dispatched around 2230 hours for reports of the back of a house on fire in the area of 74th and Dupont. Initial Alarm Assignment included BC 2, Engine 22, 31, 41, and auto-aid from West Metro Chief 7 and Tower 1. Updated address was on the 900 block of 74th Ave with police on scene stating there was flames from the back side of the house. BC 2 requested an "All Call" for Brooklyn Park. BC 2 arrived, confirmed there was a working fire, and took command. Engine 22 and 31 made an interior attack while Engine 41 conducted a primary search. Crews made a quick knock on the fire. Crews conducted overhaul and units cleared around 0110 hours.

    02/17/2018 - "B" Shift was dispatched around 2115 to an accident on Highway 252, North of Brookdale Drive with unknown injuries. Rescue 41 responded initially. Police on scene updated that there was multiple patients that needed extrication. BC 3 and Engine 22 responded on the update and Rescue 31 was moved up to station 2 to cover calls. Crews arrived to find a 2 vehicle accident and worked on extricating victims. North Ambulance provided patient care. The incident attracted media attention.

    02/22/2018 - "C" Shift was dispatched around 1130 hours on a second alarm house fire on the 5400 block of Zealand in New Hope. BC 2, Engine 22, and Rescue 31 responded to the scene. Crews assisted with various tasks and were cleared around 1300 hours.

    02/24/2018 - "C" Shift was dispatched for auto-aid around 0700 hours to the 5000 block of 56th Ave in Crystal for reports of a detached garage fire. BC 2, Engine 22, and Rescue 31 responded and arrived with West Metro crews to find a fully involved garage fire. Crews assisted with extinguishment and overhaul and were cleared around 0830 hours.
