Saturday Afternoon "C" shifts crews were dispatched to a possible garage fire on the 8600 Block of Oxford.
Initial Alarm Assignment: CH 2, BC 2, Engine 22, Engine 31, Engine 41 with auto-aid from West Metro.
BC 2 arrived to find a single level 4 plex with a working fire in the garage. BC 2 took command and CH 2 took Alpha division. CH 2 requested a Brooklyn Park All-Call in which call-back personnel responded to the scene with Tower 21.
Engine 22 with the help of Engine 41 knocked the bulk of the fire down with a cross lay. Engine 31 assisted with a back-up line and primary search. The fire was placed under control. Overhaul was completed by crews and units cleared the scene in about an hour and a half.
Earlier in the week on Tuesday crews were called to a House Fire on the 6700 block of Edgewood. The call came out at crew change time allowing for more resources on scene.
BC 1, BC 3, Captain 41, Engine 22, Engine 31, and Engine 41 responded with Auto Aid from West Metro.
BC 1 arrived to find black smoke from the structure and completed a 360. BC 1 had command. Engine 31 arrived and found a stove fire that had some extension into the cabinets. Engine 31 made a quick knock with a pump can. Engine 22 assisted with shutting off utilities and overhaul. Engine 41 was cancelled. West Metro was cancelled.
Initial alarm brought in 14 Brooklyn Park Firefighters compared to the 7 that typically are dispatched on a first alarm assignment.
